Dinner with an old friend. Definitely agree with previous reviewer Carl M that this place does not always live up to reviewes. Probably has seen better standards in the old days. One of the counter staff had a very gloomy face as if they didn't welcome us. Gado gado was stone cold. We ordered Bali style grilled fish which came out rock hard and burnt to charcoal. The only palatable dish was some sort of curry chicken (friend ordered so I'm unsure of name) but it was a small portion for 2. We also had ice chendol which wasn't too bad. Pity the cooked dishes weren't to expectation considering the good reviews. Still, considering the positive impression my hostess gave I will give it another ch...

Shalom has friendly staff and a fantastic Chef. Something to write home about I ordered a fried fish and a chicken dish. The guy taking the order said it's too much for one person. I told him not to worry, after all I can always pack the leftovers and take them home. I hate wasting food, seeing that so many people in the World don't get enough food Would you believe it that there were no leftovers to take hone!! The food was that good

My wife and I along with 3 others attended 18/01, I was embarrassed apologised for poor choice of restaurant. We expected better. No flavour in the meals, poor selection as they are mostly the same but with change of heat. Dirty tables, no customer service, dirty plastic cups, you have to get up to ask for anything bcs they are not at tentative. This is below standard for Shalom My wife and I are from Jakarta.

The food is delicious with authentic Indonesian flavour, the portions are generous and the prices are very reasonable. It's a good spot for a quick lunch but not a place to linger!

Ordered take-away which was delivered in quick time. My first experience with this establishment and I was more than happy with the result.
