Shelley Inn - Reservar mesa

After a quiet night in for NYE, we decided to explore Shorncliffe on New Years Day. Starting to feel peckish for some lunch, so and again we used our trusty Zomato app to find a good place to eat in the area. We decided on Shellys Inn in Sandgate.Now, some of the reviews are negative, but most were positive.Now let me say New Years Day was a stinker in Brisbane, and as we walked in the first thing that was obvious was no air conditioning!! Second thing I noticed, no one seemed to care that it was hotter inside and the queue to order was quite long (a good sign .So, we decided to grab take away fish and chips and sit under the beautiful Moreton Bay figs across the street and catch the breeze....

My last fish n chip meal was Fishmonger Sandgate, put me off for a while. Tasteless, production line food and an owner who has no boundaries, talked uninvited about himself our whole meal. No such BS at Shelly Inn today, beautiful, peaceful, waterfront location, impeccably clean dining area, with all the charm of a historic building. Huge portions of cod, chunky chips and tender calamari expertly cooked. Good, fast service with size suggestions appreciated. Just really good old fashioned fish n chips at a reasonable price in a unique location. Well worth our drive to Shorncliffe.

We like this place and often get take away however occasionally manage to score the prime table on the verandah near the street corner nice breeze and great people watching while getting your fish and chip fix in. Reasonable prices and wait times aren't too bad. Gets busy on weekends and public holidays so best to get in before 12 for lunch.

I have been consistently visiting this restaurant on Sunday afternoons. The service is quick and the food is tasty, but more often than not, there is always one item missing from my order, usually the pineapple fritter. Other than that, the food is good but they don't serve any trawlers. Reserve uma mesa agora

Very clean and friendly staff. The hamburgers are to die for....just like the old fashioned style....not like the McDonalds rubbish. Great food all around Potato scallops were magic. Lovely to be able to eat beside the water. I definitely will be going back.

There is plenty of seating indoors, where our group ordered a 6-piece family pack of snapper and barramundi for $72. The meal also included 12 large calamari rings, a generous portion of chips, and lemon wedges. It was very satisfying.

Service was friendly. Parking adequate. Ambience is welcoming with a great view of the bay. Fish was fresh but sadly my salmon was overdone when I asked for it to be rare. Salad and chips are delicious. Nice spot for fish and chips.

Awesome!. Great feel to the place. Laid back atmosphere by the creek. Service is always friendly and the chef is great to chat to. Food comes out under 10 minutes and the potato cakes are fantastic. Would certainly recommend. Reserve uma mesa agora

This is the best fish and chips I have ever had. The aroma of the fried fish was fantastic. The service was exceptional, especially from an employee named Serge who really went above and beyond.

Fish and chips nicely cooked and good quality. Red Emperor $7, Snapper $8 with an extra small piece of Snapper thrown in free. Fast service. Will return.
