Shikgaek Korean Restaurant & BBQ

Have not been nearly a year since my last review so checked it out on last Friday night.I don’t know why I always feel the management has changed whenever I revisit this restaurant. This time the feeling is even stronger. Honestly, the watt staff (maybe the owners) are two young gentlemen. I never see so bust here before. Dining area was occupied in both sections.When we perused the menu, we discovered the pork belly platter marked “best” so gave it a go. This place is nestled in the corner of what seems a near derelict shopping strip just around the corner from garden city. After seeing there were no reviews on zomato I thought I would give it a go. The staff were friendly and menu easy to choose from.. The kimchi selection here is amazing. The food is what you would get if you went to visit a Korean farm. Plenty of homemade taste here. All the different kimchi panchon prepared on premises. Nice family vibe at this place. The bibimbap is the best I've tasted in Brisbane in a long time.. Easy parking... update... 4th time now and it's still the best in Brisbane

I have been looking at korean restaurants to try out, and I had a quick look at the recent reviews for Shik Gaek. I went with a friend a few months ago to have dinner there. The server was quite rude to us and the food that they served was terrible. I don't know if it was because we were chinese, but I just assumed that management for the restaurant might have changed. I basically decided never to come back to this restaurant even though my experience last year was quite good.

Recommended by a friend who had been here before. When we arrived, the restaurant looks empty so we are not sure if it's good. We went in and tried it out and ordered the marinated pork, pork belly and beef LA ribs BBQ. We also ordered the Bossam and Soft Tofu soup. The foods were really good and if you are looking for a good quality korean meal, I would suggest to give this place a go!
