Siam Orchid Restaurant

The food is average at best, but my main issue is that I purchased a voucher from them for $200 last year and only used part of this, they extended the date for me but when I returned from overseas I realized that the expiry date had past, I called to enquire about extending or refund, but was told in no uncertain terms, that it was my fault that it had expired and there was no way this could be considered. As I started off by saying that the food is "average" you may wonder why I would want to return there, I actually had no intention to do that but was hopeful of a compromise and a possible partial refund of my money outstanding, however this was not even considered by quite a rude manager...

When I walk into a restaurant and see that it is packed to the hilt and people without reservations are being turned away yet choose to wait for a vacant table, I know that the food is going to be good.Siam Orchid has apparently been in the same location for many, many years and is always very busy according to our local friend who took my wife and I there. We ordered a good selection from the extensive menu and shared everything. I couldn't fault any dish. Very welcoming family restaurant.. the food was fresh, flavoursome and served in a timely manner (which was great as we were dining with kids with friends).. the only negative point was drinks, every new drink we wanted we had to ask... we got a combination of dishes and all were fantastic.

I've been eating at Siam Orchid for around 20 years (often take- aways) and always fine the food top quality, fresh and delicious.The friendly staff greet me by name and if I phone for takeaways, the immediately know what to order for me! A firm favourite.

This place never fails to please. My favourite is the Pad Thai but my friends ordered Snapper, cashew chicken & spicy prawns and we polished off every dish. I love the fact that's it's BYO and so it's always an inexpensive evening out.
