Sophellie's At Kirkleatham

Lovely day out. Raining but still a nice time. The walled garden was ridiculously expensive admission gor what it was, I wouldn't even say it was a spectacular garden. The owl centre was a good admission price, very clean and well ran with friendly staff. The animals all looked happy and well cared for. The museum itself was very busy and the lift is a little slow but really nice place. Some fantastic artworks on display. The museum also had peter rabbit and arts and crafts activities. Again lovely staff. We didn't do the trail/ walk as it just simply was too wet although a few still said it was lovely non the less.

There was more to it and more floors than we thought there were! The top floors were the most interesting to us. Well worth a visit. We ran out of time at the end. We didn't book. It was open and there wernt loads of people there, fortunately. It is free. Might pay to ring beforehand at weekends and holidays especially to check about capacity and possible queue.

The aviary is absolutely stunning...I can't believe we were in there for nearly two and a half hours! The most stunning collection of birds I've ever seen, clearly all very happy

Our boys loved the birds of prey and meerkats, especially the meerkat pups. Lovely children's play park, maze and beautiful grounds. Educational and fun.

free and in beautiful environment. a model of its kind as a small city museum.
