Sotto Italian Spanish Cuisine

We’ve been going to Sotto for 3years. The food has always been good but the service has let us down many times. Our most recent visit the service was good but has been really poor on several occasions. Their prices have really shot up and added with their 12.5%!! Service charge they add to the bill it is quite expensive now. If you’re going to charge 12.5% then the service needs to be top notch, sadly this is not always the case. And I know they have a long running battle with the council for their outside terrace they erected without planning permission so I see why they want to use it 24/7 but it’s such a shame as they have a really nice restaurant that never seems to be used, even in the...

Read some negative comments about this place but my experience was very positive. The food was excellent and service was spot-on. We had a waitress called Olivia that was terrific, very helpful and pleasant. We had a wheel chair user in out party and although there was no ramp to access the outside seating where we wanted to sit the staff went out of their way to help and all with a smile and lots of humour. This was the worst dining experience I’ve ever had. I think the picture speaks for itself this ‘paella’ looked and tasted like a burnt microwave meal. It was also freezing cold after waiting for 10 mins for my friend’s meal to arrive. Combined with the exceedingly rude staff, poor service and wet chairs this was all in all a dreadful experience. We ordered seafood paella and linguine ala Scoglio. Both were very tasty and fresh seafood. The puddings were also delicious specially the triple chocolate cake Staff are also friendly and fluent Spanish spoken.
