As Splendido is closing by year end, we decided to jump on the opportunity to dine before it wasn't around anymore. We enjoyed the 12 course tasting menu which was really fabulous. The service was also top notch. My only disappointment was the last savoury course 85 day aged Cumbrae Farms steak (can't remember the cut). The texture was just not great. A bit dry and gritty, although cooked very well. It definitely wasn't the best end to a phenomenal meal and certainly not a great promotion for Cumbrea Farms. After the prior 9 courses, it just really fell short. I wish I could have had 6 more of the egg yolk ravioli and the mushroom dish was also to die for.

My biggest issue, however, was with the wine pairing—specifically, the wine selections. Including a beer pairing for two of the courses felt rather exploitative, and offering sake for three courses seemed a bit cheeky. There was only one decent red wine, which, while reasonably good, was rather average for a Burgundy. Overall, it felt like trying to squeeze the last drops of milk from a cow before it heads off to pasture.

Splendido is the best fine dining I have tried in Toronto. All my other favourites are in Quebec. The chef is very creative, the taste of each dish is very flavourful and interesting. The entire experience is full of surprises. It is very sad that this restaurant is coming to an end, but I believe the new one will be more affordable yet good quality as always.

Service was slow and food was just too fancy. Used the best Ingredients (like caviar, truffle, foie gras, uni but with the extra fluff, killed the flavor. Wine pairing should only have wine and not beer and sake. 12 course meal at $180 was reasonable; just too bad it wasn't my taste. Reserve uma mesa agora

I surprised my wife with dinner for our anniversary, and the entire experience was outstanding. I would highly recommend it, though it is now closed. It was a wonderful way to bid farewell to one of my favorite dining spots in the city. We'll miss you!

Chef Berry appeared to have little interest in engaging with us. Even Michelin 3-star chefs I have encountered have taken more time to greet me than Victor Berry did.
