This place was so charming—the couple who run it were so delightful!The food was also great—after several days of indulging in Texas bbq, our California stomachs were ready for something light and fresh. The strawberry salad with feta and almonds was delicious, and I loved the vinaigrette—it was the homemade version of what that weird red “French dressing” that I hated as a kid was apparently trying to be! So good!The lettuce wraps with chicken salad and bacon were also fantastic, as was the creamy Italian sausage soup. Endless amounts of iced tea rounded everything out, and I was sad we didn’t have time to try the crepes.If I ever find myself in Ballinger, TX again I will definitely be back...
