Tasca do Ze Tuga - Reservar mesa

Traveling through Braganca, decided we stay for the night. Driving around to see the city and find a place we followed a sign saying Centro Historico. That's always a good choice to follow. It led us to a castle high on a hill and you could drive through the gates of the curtain wall. Single lane of course. Instant transformation to medieval times ! There were houses and businesses inside the walls and a smallish but beautiful castle somewhat in the center. We spotted this place and went in. Instant friendliness, as Paul the waiter made us feel right at home. Very nice interior of stone and wood, with cases displaying fish, hams, produce, garlic, peppers, and the many products that the geniu...

Um almoço fabuloso no Castelo, numa segunda-feira tranquila, já que a maioria dos museus de Bragança encerra na segunda-feira e houve manutenção e trabalhadores no local. A Tasca era acolhedora e o único garçom, Nando, subia e descia as escadas como um demônio. Faltavam 3 garçons por um motivo ou outro, mas o Nando foi excelente e ainda teve tempo para conversar. A equipa de cozinha presidida pelo impressionante Luís Portugal, com estrela Michelin, manteve-se intacta e produziu alimentos soberbos e inovadores provenientes de fontes inteiramente locais. Tínhamos pretendido apenas um almoço leve, mas o menu era tão atraente que acabamos cheios depois de compartilhar dois 'Momentos' modificados...

Great food with a modern twist. Take great ingredients, brilliant staff, wonderful setting and put a modern twist on classic dishes and you have a recipe for a great meal - Tasca do Ze Tuga delivers with aplomb. The chefs menu is good value and a great way to sample a variety of the dishes on offer - we had a superb salad starter, a second spicy meatball taster, delicious bean soup, bacalhau a castelo ( rather like a kedgeree come fish cake mix ) which was delicious, pearvtart with sorbet and coffees plus one round of drinks for 25 euro a person. Well worth it in my opinion! They also have interesting and delicious vegetarian choices that don't involve cheese!!! Looking round the other table...

Às vezes é difícil resumir por que você ama um restaurante. Mas desta vez foi mais fácil; é um lugar mágico, com um chef apaixonado, uma localização verdadeiramente deslumbrante e um compromisso com a qualidade que você quase pode tocar.... De fato, se o segredo de uma ótima refeição é a paixão, este restaurante não pode falhar. As refeições que tivemos eram baseadas em comida tradicional de inverno, mas reinventadas com estilo. Não tenho palavras para descrever adequadamente a variedade de aromas que eles evocaram, mas a ideia geral é favoritos tradicionais com elegância. E, meu Deus, os vinhos.... No final, fomos surpreendidos pelos sabores. Daríamos seis estrelas se pudéssemos. Reserve uma mesa agora

Quando um restaurante privilegia a aparência em vez do sabor e da delicadeza, mais cedo ou mais tarde verá suas estrelas diminuírem. Esse é o caso aqui. Para começar, a entrada supostamente oferecida estava terrível (para dizer o mínimo, pois os ingredientes pareciam estar vencidos). Em seguida, ambos os pratos principais pareciam bons à primeira vista, mas apenas um deles estava realmente saboroso. Palavra de cautela: ambos estavam muito salgados, o que geralmente significa que os ingredientes não estavam tão frescos quanto deveriam estar.

If you only eat out once in Portugal, make it here. We toured the whole of Portugal and this was the best restaurant. Our first visit here was at the beginning of our trip. On that occasion we had only popped in for drink but ended up having the most wonderful set lunch. The food was divine, the staff brilliant and the chef fantastic.At the end of our trip we travelled right across Portugal so that we could have our last meal of our trip there. We were not disappointed. Another fantastic expirience. Can't wait till we can return.

We know this restaurant since the first year it was open. And we visit it everys ummer. This year we we're again surprised by the high quality of the food. You can feel that the 'chefe de cozinha' is still evoluating. HLuis' passion for the traditional Portugese foods is combined with the knowledge of his experience in Masterchef Portugal. He gives the Portugese kitchen a hip and trendy look. The service is always very friendly and don't forget the incredible view on the castle when you eat opn the terrace outside!

Simplesmente excelente. Os meninos foram muito atenciosos com guloseimas extras da cozinha. Eles também foram muito gentis com nosso cachorrinho. A comida era ótima. O talento abunda na cozinha e na frente da casa.

We had drinks and snacks at Tasca do Ze Tuga. The terrace has a beautiful view on the castle of Braganca and drinking a glass of wine with some snacks there is just heavenly
