Taylor Grocery - Reservar uma mesa

As any good negative yelp post would start, if I could, I'd give this place negative stars. The owner's daughter who was working the door is the nastiest and ugliest woman in the south. She was rude to both me and my mother in law--I have never been a big fan of this place, but I will never come back again. She sealed the deal. Spread the word--the ambiance is cutesy, but I can get something just as good at a Disney spot. And with awesome service. The food can be replicated anywhere else at a so so place in the South. I had a slimy gumbo that was like pig slop. The other crud tastes like dirt fried in old oil. Spread the word, run this place into the ground. Turn it into a relic of the past...

First, this business is not in Oxford, Ms. It is Taylor,Ms (4-A Depot St Taylor, MS 38673) or you could even argue the point that it is in Water Valley. With that said.. The Old Taylor grocery is an authentic Mississippi country eatery. The food is spot on, and although the pricing is a bit high in my opinion, it is well worth the effort to get there and pay the fare..

Went with a large group a couple years ago! Great food, but long wait. Thankfully, we planned for it packed snacks/drinks to essentially tailgate while we waited. The location is tucked away (in the woods) away from downtown oxford, which adds to the novelty. I would definitely go back! Southern fried food can't go wrong!

OMG this is my favorite restaurant the first time I went I fell in love with their fish it's the best I've EVER had an I love fish it's always cooked just like I like it I've never eaten there an was disappointed. Sure wished I had a plate right now. Don't stop frying that fish are I might starve lol

Definitely a must if you're visiting Oxford! Fun atmosphere down home southern cooking. The chicken fingers and catfish are phenomenal. BYOB to tailgate while you wait for a table!
