This year for a staff Christmas party we made the decision to stick local so chose the TapHouse for our staff party. In an effort to make a reservation ahead of time I was left in charge of making a reservation . I started calling mid Dec and was told due to the size of my party, a “manager” would need to confirm and would call me back. After a week, no one returned my call. So I called again, and again and again … I spoke to different staff each time, same message and no one called me back. We popped in for a few beer and appy's on a Friday evening. Seated where we requested, and initial impressions of the outside were good. Love the drink selection variation available! We ordered a Le Chouffe Blond (excellent beer and Little Gem cider. The order got messed at the bar and the cider turned into a fruity beer; error corrected right away...good initial impressions on service. Appetizers were Thai Shrimp (know they are spicy hot! and Samosa's. As the evening went on it was clear that the problem that was evident on our walk down from the hotel (homelessness, alcohol and drug issues persist here and take away from what could be a very enjoyable spot. I have been here before and enjoyed it. But now since they have the patio I feel it has gone downhill. If you go to this restaurant make sure you don’t sit around the outside tables on the patio. If you are brave enough to sit on the outside of the patio you will constantly be harassed by homeless people begging for money and trying to give you high fives………. And they don’t leave!!!! Not to mention the meth head tweaker sitting at the table beside you.

The choice of beer is staggering, and the commitment of the owners towards finding the best beers from wherever and creating a great place to drink them, is quite wonderful. Ok it's pricy. But this is not your standard bar. A treasure.

Met friends and had a great meal on a large outdoor seating area, food was delicious and staff were friendly and fun. Recommend and will definitely return.
