What a find! Who would have thought that there would be really good food inside and old feed shop. I'm so glad my friend brought me here. We started with their pulpits and beer mustard sauce. Loved the warm pulpits. Crispy and salty on the outside. Soft inside. Pretzels are one of my favorite meunchies. Of all the pulps I have consumed in my days, this is by far the best. Next we tried the fried green tomatoes BLT Sandwich. Yummy! It's nice that we shared the sandwich, because the delicious large pulpits have left little space for much more. Add a cold beer and I was a happy camper. I wish I lived closer or the gas prices were cheaper. I will definitely try to make it back with some friends....
Anvil is exactly what we expected. A small town eat place with local kindness that makes an experience pleasant. I would definitely be regular if we didn't live 2 hours from Pittsburg TX. The portions were huge on the reubs, satisfied our hunger with their own interesting twist on flavors. Also craft beer and apple wine interesting. Would definitely visit again. The anvil roasted beer was top notch. Chocolate stuff should be something everyone gets. The food was amazing for the location. Service was fast and efficient. I had chickens and waffles. Fried zucchini. The restaurant is located in an old dining room serving a large decor. You've got outside seats.
