The Barley Mow - Reservar uma mesa

We have visited the Barley Mow a few times now and have always very much enjoyed our visits. We have had lunch midweek and the lady that served our tables has been so lovely and friendly. However, we visited this weekend and unfortunately were very...disappointed. On arrival a male member of staff was leant against the bar, showing us all his bottom. I think this was just unfortunate but not what you wanted to see on arrival, the same member of staff spent his whole time whilst we were there on his phone. There was a young lady serving who was just so miserable, a complete contrast to the older lady who we have had in the week. She was staring at everyone, we asked a question and she barely...

This has to be one of the worst meals we have ever had. Firstly we had to wait quite a long time for the food to come, but thought this would mean the food would be hot when it came out. Myself and my daughter...shared starters for The mushrooms and prawns were on the menu as being served with baby leaf salad. When The plates came there was no sign of any salad or garnish of any type. The over fried mushrooms and prawns were Luke warm and very greasy. They had literally been put on the large plate and brought out. Admittedly the food was cheap but the quality of the food was so bad we’d have been better going for a fast food burger rather than a sit down meal. We won’t be going back.

If you choose to order from the Golden Days menu and want to enjoy a £2 dessert from the same menu, you must also order and pay for a main dish pudding at the same time. Unfortunately, this requirement is not clearly stated on the menu and we were not informed about it at the time of ordering.

The food was ok, but nothing special and mostly cold. Service was quite fast and most of the staff were friendly and happy to help. Was quite busy so decided not to send the food back and we were happy to eat it, but there...is room for improvement.
