The Carpenters Arms

Went for Sunday lunch, waited an hour for food which wasn’t ideal. Main issue was dogs! Why oh why have the management decided dogs can be everywhere? Used to be just in the bar area, but now in restaurant too? We had to listen to a very yappy dog throughout meal (owner should have taken it outside) and then a table next to us came in with two dogs, set up a smelly dog blanket right behind our seats no I don’t want a pudding now thanks and I have a dog myself (which was at home) so this isn’t coming from someone who doesn’t like dogs. food was flavoursome, expertly cooked, hot and well presented. The food was very good quality, I was very pleased with pheasant, others had the chicken, veg risotto and burger and not as expensive as some other local restaurants. The staff worked well as a team, attentive but not overly so and quick to meet requests when asked. The pub is clean with a cosy atmosphere. On the more mundane, toilets recently redone, plenty of parking, children's menu. Really pleased Vegetarian options: some but not many Price per person: £20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

First time we’ve stayed at this pub/hotel and it was brilliant. Lovely comfortable rooms, great pub and restaurant. Fab atmosphere and lovely staff. We’ll definitely be returning. I had a delightful experience at The Carpenter's Arms. The accommodation was wonderful, and we thoroughly enjoyed a fantastic dinner followed by a lovely breakfast the next morning. Beautiful pub with a lovely atmosphere however, the service was a little slow and to then be basically pushed to leave due to last orders being called at 10pm on a Friday evening I found a little rude. Food very tasty! Price per person: £40–50 Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5

Gorgeous food but sadly you had run out of 0% Guineas and Harvey’s beer. It was also very noisy as a group near us were very loud but everything g else was very good. Price per person: £40–50 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 3
