The Carpenters Arms, Ilsington. Nr. Haytor, Dartmoor, Devon, England

A lovely little pub, very friendly, cosy with great food. We stay at the IIlsingon Hotel a few times a year and always book a table at the Carpenters Arms. The food is amazing with some good vegan options, they do lovely beer and wine and last time we stayed the log burner was on and it was toasty!! There is generally some funky music playing too!! We are so pleased we found this little gem

Booked a table for 4 for Sunday lunch via messenger, first time eating out for nearly 3 years, very friendly welcoming hosts, they chose us the perfect table. We all ordered the roast it was well worth the wait, freshly cooked plenty, no room for puddings much to some's disappointment! Great value for money. We will certainly be revisiting. Sorry, I made a mistake with the stars system , I meant to give 5 stars not 3 stars. Iwent to the Carpenters on a weeknight; food couldn't fault. Landlady was very friendly, directed me to next to a woodburner on a cold night .They had another big open fire as well. Would definitely go again. We need to support to these pubs in these days.

We're staying in Haytor, wanted an evening meal and found Carpenters by accident. Nice friendly pub with good food, and quite large portions. So worth seeking out

Had probably, the best Sunday roast dinner here from a pub in a very long time. Dog friendly and welcoming. Thanks a lot
