Five of us visited for lunch on August 5. We were greeted by the server who immediately told us they were seriously short-staffed due to their being a lack of local employable help and there would be a wait time. That was fine with us and we were seated. Our food arrived about 10 minutes after ordering and we were not disappointed. My Exquisite Grilled Cheese with poached pears, carmelized onions, goat and cheddar cheese was just that however the large portion of fries with it was extremely salty. Another local restaurant turned us away for dinner service and a couple outside mentioned that if we were looking for dinner The Courage was the place to go. A minute walk west and we arrived at this gorgeous, ambient, no-attention-to-detail-spared bistro and the three of us grabbed a spot at the bar. Oliver is one of the most impressive bartenders I've met in recent memory - personable, knowledgeable, passionate. He picked up quickly on the fact that we love a really fantastic food/wine experience and came to the table (to the bar? haha) with suggestions for snacks, entrees, and cocktails/wine. Had a girls weekend in the county over the weekend. When looking for a lunch spot my friend and I were recommended to try The Courage from a neighboring restaurant.We entered and immediately loved the vibe of the place especially the service. Brunch did not disappoint. Its was unique and amazing. We ended up cancelling our dinner reservation elsewhere as we wanted to go back for dinner.Dinner was fantastic. Overall super super experience. Driving back to St. Catharines the following morning my girlfriend commented how she would make the 3.5 hours drive back there just to eat at The Courage and then drive back home. : )Can't say enough good things about this place. Went here for a bite due to everything else being very full. Seemed super cute so we poped in. The food portions are small. So do not go here if you are hungry. I got the steak and friets. My steak was bleeding and my "friets" were awful and not cooked all the way through. The ceaser taste like lemon water. I walked out starving and hoping I'd pass a pizza place on the way. Go anywhere else.
