The Cross Swords Inn

We visited this restaurant while staying in the area and were immediately impressed by the lovely atmosphere upon walking in. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. We had made a reservation for six of us who were staying at a nearby hotel. The menu had a good selection and the prices were reasonable. I ordered the Skillet pie, which was delicious and came with proper chips - it was perfect! The meal was impeccable. Despite the restaurant being busy with two other large parties, the staff managed well and we never felt rushed or inconvenienced. We had a great time and would definitely recommend a visit if you're in the area.

We went for Sunday lunch and were impressed with the excellent, well-presented Sunday roast and dessert. The portions were generous and the staff very friendly. The beer was also good. We couldn't find any faults and will definitely be returning. Just a note, the restaurant is not in Grantham but rather in the village of Skillington near Grantham.

This charming restaurant, located in a peaceful village, is a clean, cozy, and comfortable spot. It's rare for me to give a 5-star rating, but the owner went above and beyond when my car battery died, showing immense kindness and generosity. A true gem of a place.

The village pub is charming and offers great prices. I haven't tried the food yet, but I'm confident it's delicious.
