The Dorset Soldier

Service was very slow the staff did not know dietary information about the food (e.g. gluten free . Soup seemed to be out of a tin. Main course was very poor. Roast potatos OK but veg. overcooked, bland likely not salted when cooked. Lamb chops over cooked, tough dry. No sauc or gravy. Cheese board (that I had to wait for until all the other deserts had beenserved (and eaten! was nicely presented but the cheese was cold rather than room temp. Coffee was pre-milked, weak and tasted instant. Very unlikely to go again.

Came here with my son on a Friday evening after a long week and just wanted to surprise him with a nice Dinner. We had a Children 's Lasagne which according to my son was how Lasagne should be and a pint of Badger. The staff were great and we really enjoyed our evening. Thanks Geoff, will be back!

I absolutely adore this restaurant and the staff who work there. I am really missing it while I am away in New York.
