The George - Reservar uma mesa

We always use the George, in Wanstead, as a local when visiting London. On Sunday we had evening food. We normally only eat breakfast there. I had the ‘gourmet steak’. It was served cold !!. Sent back and it was replaced. What came out...was the worst piece of steak ever. In fact it was just gristle. The ‘chef’ should be ashamed. I actually asked if he would have served it to a member of their own family. No apology, no refund, no contrition. Wetherspoons obviously has a policy of not refunding , or negotiation regarding complaints. I’m hoping that this will be a one off and the ‘chef’ moves on to another food establishment. What a sad day for them it’ll be when he rocks up there.

the george is a lively place in the weekends with good weather spoons priced drinks and offers. generally a friendly amount, with courtesy helpful bar staff. eating is standard chains pub fair, not terrible, but nothing to rave. at the price they pay his perfectly acceptable. a good place to meet friends at the beginning of the night or for a quick up. it is extremely childish/family-friendly during the day, and the menus and personal tolerance for small and their inability to sit still happy reflects this.

I have been a few times to the George in Wanstead, this was not the first time that the manager has been completely rude not allowing people back to their tables after going into the beer garden but then having to wait in the queue...for another hour, just to collect jackets that were left inside. I was appalled by this especially from a senior manager.

So much for ‘normality’! Security are rude, aggressive and argumentative. You can’t just walk in despite this being legal, but are taken to tables and not allowed to stand. How ridiculous! I hope this changes because it’s absolutely ridiculous and no other spoons I go...to does this.

Tom the worker was extremely rude , harassing my friends and kicking them out for no reason . He was extremely rude and followed me to the toilets I will he complaining to the police for this.
