The Jug Bottle - Reservar mesa

We met a friend for lunch, in a kind of half business meeting/half friendly lunch setting. We were greeted by a bartender who seemed a bit abrupt, as they had just had a minor disagreement with our friend before we arrived. It seemed that the customer isn't always right when questioning the taste of a pint. Despite this rocky start, things improved from there. The restaurant is charming and beautifully decorated for Christmas. The server was polite and friendly, and the food was delicious. We opted for the light bite menu, which was just enough for us and reasonably priced. They also had a good selection of lagers and real ales. Overall, it's worth a visit and we would definitely go again.

Had dinner with family on a chilly autumn evening. The restaurant has a very welcoming ambiance, with friendly helpful staff. We were all seriously impressed with the service and the food. Great selection of beers and wines and gins, for that matter. I had the John Dory, they had the pie. I had a clean plate, my son had a clean plate. Daughter in law couldn’t finish her pie but she loved it so much, the staff wrapped it and we took the rest home for her lunch. I would highly recommend this place for a special dinner. Next time I visit, I’ll book to stay in one of their rooms for sure! Many thanks for a wonderful evening.

Love a local pub that does high quality food here is definitely one of those. Ate on a Friday night, place was full with locals eating and drinking, fortunately had booked. Really interesting menu the food was exceptional. My gnocchi is something I’ll remember for a long time! We felt very welcome, loved the setting would struggle to find better food in a high end restaurant. It was warm though so if you dress for the weather, wear layers so you can strip off once inside! :

Never stayed here before. We chose this place because it was very conveniently located whilst we were visiting family and friends. The room was comfortable and bright. The bath/shower room was fine water pressure not too good, but not a problem. The breakfast (table service) was excellent. The dinner was also excellent with a good choice of dishes. The restaurant had a great buzz without being too crowded. The staff were friendly and helpful Reserve uma mesa agora

We had a fantastic experience at this restaurant. The room was cozy, large, and beautifully decorated. The bathroom was also impressive and very clean. Our group of three enjoyed both dinner and breakfast at the restaurant, and both meals were outstanding. We were all very pleased with the dinner, from the appetizers to the main courses - every dish was tasty and portion sizes were generous. We highly recommend this place.

We are Jug regulars and we have been coming here for over 20 years. I can honestly say recent visits have been below the standard we have come to expect. Service was extremely slow, staff looked like they couldn’t care less, barman was rude and came across slightly aggressive. When the food arrived it was good, but was spoiled by an otherwise bad experience. It’s a shame, I hope this pub can return to former glory soon.

The Jug never fails to deliver, Andy and his team pull out all the stops whether you drop in for a coffee, or as we did today meet up for a lovely relaxed lunch with friends. The atmosphere is welcoming and comfortable, the food delicious and freshly prepared and even when busy, conversation is never drowned out. A real home from home but without the washing up. Five stars all round!

Lunch with family last Sunday. It was my 1st time visiting this pub. I like the decoration in this pub with chairs and tables. I had ordered Hot chocolate, a glass of cola and a full stack of ribs. and my Mom ordered a Sunday roast of beef. I enjoyed my meal and Mom liked it. Excellent service, food all home baked and delicious with a lovely friendly atmosphere. Sharon is a real asset to the place. Nothing too much trouble, very knowledgeable and always a helping hand.

Peaceful setting for the best nut roast of ma life. I believe the chicken was also good. We were sat outside what with the weather but opted for a shady spot what with the weather
