A word of caution for families with young children: it's best to avoid this restaurant. The prices for a basic Sunday dinner are excessive. After reading reviews, we decided to book for our first Sunday lunch with the family. While the food and atmosphere were pleasant, the prices were outrageously high. The Sunday platter for five was essentially the same as the platter for two, just with a few extra slices of meat. Priced at over £100 and served on children's plates, it felt like a rip-off. The kids' chicken nuggets were £8.50, a small glass of blackcurrant squash was £2, and a child's ice cream cone was £6. We left feeling like we had been taken advantage of and won't be returning. We booked in at 5.30PM so it was not very busy with only one other couple eating and two guys drinking outside. The waitress Karen was friendly, efficient and helpful. I had looked at the menu on line which seemed OK so was pleased with the large number of specials to chose from when I arrived. the food was excellent as was the beer choice and quality. Prices where acceptable if a bit higher than average but it is a lovely venue not a pub chain. I plan on going to try the Sunday dinner next month. That should be praise enough.

Dreadful, meal booked for 7pm, mid-week, hardly anyone in the pub or restaurant area eating, and our mediocre meals for our party of 8 finally arrived at 8.40pm……waiting one hour and forty minutes for one course only. Terrible service, drinks were slow in coming, we asked for mayonnaise and were brought tartare sauce. Absolutely awful, will definitely NOT be going again.

My wife recently dined at this restaurant and thoroughly enjoyed the food. The flavors were amazing and the portion sizes were very generous. However, during our most recent visit, the food did not live up to our expectations. Despite looking appealing, it did not have the same fantastic flavors we had experienced before.

Excellent all round . Very friendly staff and attentive. It was pie night so good value for money. Lovely steak ale pie best we have had in ages . Look forward to visiting again soon
