The Lilydale General

My husband and I visited this restaurant for brunch last weekend. The staff was extremely friendly, and the cafe had a welcoming atmosphere. I ordered the vegan breakfast, which was a generous portion with a variety of flavors. All the ingredients tasted fresh. My husband had the brisket with poached eggs and hollandaise sauce, and he couldn't stop raving about how delicious it was. The coffees were also excellent. We will definitely return in the future.

The staff is nice and friendly. Beautiful coffee and vegan Chai Lattés. A few nice vegan meals and dessert options — I recommend “The Vegan General” or the frit. The menu includes many meat dishes, but also has its fair share of vegetarian and vegan options. A recent menu change lacks some of my favorite vegan picks. Dogs are also welcome in the outdoor seating area and welcomed by staff with affection and treats!

The food was also amazing. We both had the chicken Caesar salad, which was prepared perfectly with crisp lettuce, tender chicken, and a delicious dressing. I would definitely return to this cafe.

Had breakfast with an omni-friend. The staff is friendly. Eating is okay, something overpriced.
