The Lion - Reservar uma mesa

The food was great, but considering the price and service level, I don’t feel it was a good overall experience. The pub is lovely, well decorated and the tables haven’t been set too close to each other. Unfortunately though, it took us a long time to place our drinks order and the bartender seemed inexperienced and it took a great deal of time for our drinks to be ready (coke and pimms, nothing complex turned out the pimms was just pimms and lemonade). The food came relatively quickly and was well presented and tasty. After finishing our meal it took around 30 minutes for our plates to be cleared at which point we decided to pay and take our chances elsewhere for a dessert. The bill then too...

A nice clean, very efficient restaurant serving fantastic food. Staff are very personable and even as a lone diner, i was completely relaxed. Be warned though, they are completely cashless... You must pay by card. My only disappointment...is just another establishment that does not serve New Zealand Sauvignon by the glass. I wish this would change. But that aside, i would definitely eat here again.

Nice country pub. Friendly welcoming staff. Although the lunchtime menu was limited, the food was good. Will go again when I'm next in the area.

Wonderful food. Great atmosphere. Charming location. Definitely worth a stop if you are anywhere near Magor!
