The Lobby Lounge - Reservar uma mesa

As with every venue at the Shangri La, food and drinks here are convenient if you are a guest, but very expensive. I guess that is the nature of the beast (sorry, I mean signature hotels) so while I mention it, I knew what I was getting into when we decided to stay here, and won’t be complaining about it. Service was quite good by two very pleasant and helpful young ladies. The dishes on offer are quite basic, toasted sandwiches, salads, paninis, pizzas and so on. Perfectly adequate for a casual meal. The coffee style tables are a bit low if you are getting on (as we are) but otherwise fine. My panini, with a (large) piece of grilled chicken breast came in Turkish bread, with melted provolon...

Went there 4pm Saturday afternoon to celebrate a girlfriends birthday. Waited some time for our champagne, tray of goodies to arrive. Savouries were very poor selection, cold squashed toasted cheese sandwich cold mini meat pie. I asked the waitress if it is ment to be cold or hot she said cold but could go heat them. We didn't bother. The scones NOT fluffy warm, clotted cream over beaten. After being there an hour had to ask if we could have a tea coffee. Poor service. Left very disappointed embarrassed as it was supposed to be a treat for a friend. Could do better myself making it at home. Have been to many much nicer high teas in other hotels in Sydney. Now, who would have thought that a lobby lounge could be this special? All other lobby lounges I have been to, are just that, a lobby lounge. But, the experience of the lobby loung at the Shangri-La is something everyone should experience. The deserts are just out of this world, the apple crumble arrives looking just like a beautiful green Granny Smith Apple, when you put your fork to it, the cust is made from chocolate and the apple inside, this was just one of the many desserts they have. If you live in Sydney, you should have a meeting with a client there or a meeting with your friends. You will not be disappointed.

First thing to say is that the service could not have been friendlier or more welcoming. We have only had snacks here, the breakfast baps were fine for me but my husband was not at all happy, too much brown sauce and no option to order without. Good coffee, would visit again. Very handy if staying in the hotel.

What a wonderful experience! Absolutely delicious! Priced reasonably (I have had far more expensive ones). We declined the sparkling wine and had mocktails instead. Very nice alternative. An unhurried very enjoyable experience.
