On the day of our reservation, part of my family arrived early and were directed to go upstairs. However, when I arrived later, I found that our reservation had been double booked for a Baby Shower downstairs. Despite my reservation being made in July, we were forced to move downstairs without any apology from management. The staff did not handle the situation well and it was clear they prioritized the other group over us. we had the chance to get a meal on Saturday night and although it was only the place really busy. the employees were very accommodating and found us quickly a table. the food was great, and the beer went down very well! we had the steak and the bark steak were both excellent. the chocolate cheese cake was also a real tasty bite. the staff was very friendly and made a real fuss of our dog (which also enjoyed the free bacon kaue and bowl water). we were recommended to try the old smithy and we were not disappointed. will definitely book next time in eccleshall; to avoid any possible disappointment.

We visited the Smithy and enjoyed a king prawn starter and fillet beef stroganoff . Wow what a delight absolutely amazing ! Polished it off with a lovely bottle of primitivo , staff were attentive and polite and looked after us .Compliments to the chef and team great night great food and great service !
