The Pipes and Taps Pub

Pipes and Taps is similar to the queens head or kings arms, in that it's an oakville traditional English public house, or pub. It's different in that it's located in a suburban section of oakville north which makes it more of a local neighborhood pub and it genuinely feels that way. Service is mature and adult, food is quite good, with better performed spins on the typical favorites. Portion size is modern, no mountain of fresh sides that look like the Eiger. Such a disappointment. We have been to this pub on many occasions and had great food. Unfortunately, our last two visits have shown us the food and catering has changed. The spinach dip was salty, greasy and lacked depth of flavour. Pot pies are now served in tin foil, dry, no buttery sauce. Not served with the wilted greens as before and definitely not puff pastry. More of your typical frozen shop bought pie. Fish and chips looked better. More colour on plate with a coleslaw but very greasy. Our mains came up far too quick as we had not even got half way through our starters. On a good note plenty of great beer choices and patio. I can’t say enough about this location and how it’s a great pub for our community. The staff are absolutely fantastic and know their local clientele by name, which we all appreciate. Thank you for doing the little extras for my family when it comes to birthdays and group events. I will continue to support them here in Oakville. There are a few not so great pubs in the area but this one truly stands out and deserves your business… Great take out too!

The waitress was sweet, the music doesn't suit the atmosphere, please don't order the chicken pot pie because it is just like the cheap frozen ones you can get in the little round tin at Walmart. Won't be back. Hoped for the best, but alas they all can't be winners.Parking: Parking behind, but keep driving ?

I had a celebration of life for my mother here, and it was perfection. Perfectly timed, beautifully decorated, saw to my every need. It’s cozy and warm, the staff is friendly and the food is really good with a really good selection on tap.

First time trying this pub out. Food was really good, however service was off. Our server seemed nice enough took our order , but once food came out not once did she come back to ask how it was, or ask if we wanted a refill on our drinks.

This is the only pub that has onion rings that seriously tempt my dad, they're that good. Love when I get to come here
