A real gem of a pub hidden away up a back street at the top of town. Recently changed hands, this pub is never going to win any awards for most popular place in Henley. The regulars though are warm and friendly and the beer is well kept. There are half a dozen tables to one side of the bar and a reasonably sized beer garden out back. Heaters and a roof mean that the smokers shelter is comfortable, and there is sky sports available too. If you fancy reading the paper over a decent pint, then this is the place for you. Alert! Came here during Regatta week, and expected it to be unpleasantly heaving, but it was half empty. The pub had a pared down menu of favourites, including bangers and mash and fish and chips. As I've never been before, I'm not sure if that was normal. I had the burger which was good. The portions are large. It's not gourmet but that's not what they're trying to be. Everyone enjoyed their meals. The service was brisk and friendly. I will definitely be back.

Only been here a couple of times although it's just a stone's throw from our front door and unlikely to go back. Nothing wrong with the staff or the selection of alcoholic beveragesI just find the clientele in there to be quite cliquey and not particularly friendly to young newcomers.

"The food is delicious with generous portions, and getting extra gravy is a plus. The service is very friendly. What more could you ask for? The chicken pie is hearty and filled generously, as is the lamb suet pudding."
