The Star - Reservar mesa

We have visited a few times mainly when we are finishing work on a Friday night and having a few before getting the train. We have always loved this pub been coming in for quite a while now. Shame the entertainment has been stopped sometimes we stayed on a little longer for it. Good to see promotions still going although tad unsure on the staff there. Some don’t know what day of the week it is and the the other guy tall newish is rather creepy made me and a couple of the girls feel uncomfortable. He may be a nice enough fella but not a barman not welcoming to women at all. Other than that I cannot fault the place just bring back entertainment

I and my friends used to come to this little place on the regular including most weekends and weekdays. Until unfortunately which we had seen before but didn’t believe it would happen was the landlord decided to argue with us about ‘not buying enough drinks and stealing all his chairs and you might as well sit upstairs and I can put sky on’.. First I thought it was a joke but it soon became apparent it was not. Appalling treatment and for quite a pricey pub has put me and 6 other friends from coming back since. Shame.

I like it. A lot. Usually come down on a Saturday or Sunday for the footy or a a quiet drink or three. Beer garden is nice actually, usually quite quiet when I'm down here so a good place to relax in the sun in the afternoon with a pint and just chill out. Not pretentious, just good drinks at a decent price and the drinkers and staff in here are all pretty friendly. Decent pool table too.

Disgusting food! And terrible service. They ran out of gravy, mash, and all half of the options for pies. But it didn't stop them from charging us for all this, while serving just pies (without anything else! . When I asked for a refund, they apologised and said that this was how they charge. I was shocked. The most appalling service and terrible food I've ever seen in England. Reserve uma mesa agora

The Star is our local pub, we love catching up with friends and relaxing but we really miss the bands! We’ve had some great weekends with the music, local bands at times. It would be great to see some music back in our local, I’m sure it would increase profits too and most of the bands had a great following. Let’s bring the music back to The Star please

I really enjoy this pub, always use it when there are sporting events on. the beer is always fresh and cold. The staff are better than before and the only thing it could do with is a better food option. All in all a great pub.

Visted for a drink and a bit of food, food was delicious with generous portions. The minted lamb steak was definitely a highlight alongside the extensive gin menu and cocktails! Definitely lives up to its name!

Just came for a drink whilst waiting for the train. A bit gloomy and just the sort of pub you would come to for a quick drink and not a night out. Plenty of space to sit. Reserve uma mesa agora

Good clean pub with friendly staff but not one for couples as it’s a sports bar with very little seating. Maltsmith ipa was nice.

Popped in for pies with friends , made feel very welcome and will be back soon . Pies with smiles and great Service
