We had a pleasant surprise on our walk to Bolton Abbey today as we noticed the Tea Cottage has new owners and has had a lovely refurbishment. We had stopped going there over the last six months as we felt the previous owners had let it slip and it had gone downhill. This is definitely not the case now. It is very welcoming, the staff are friendly and enthusiastic, the tempting cakes are, freshly baked. (the scones are to die for) and there is a varied lunch menu. Prices are reasonable and the coffee is good too . Everywhere is clean and fresh and the lovely open fire is an added bonus on a cold , frosty day. Of course the seating outside has the best views on the estate but it was lovely to...
