The Tenderloin Room

We had a lovely time at the Tenderloin Room last night. The ambiance is dark and intimate, different areas that allow for a sit down dinner or there's space at the bar. I started off with the Smoked Old Fashioned which came in a lovely Booker's box. It was presented beautifully and tasted amazing...super smoky,warm and so comforting on a cold January night! We had the Crab cakes, beef carpaccio and shrimp cocktail for starters. The beef carpaccio I think was a little overpowered by the mustard seeds, still delicious, but I would've liked more flavor. This place has been on my list for YEARS now! I finally found the perfect excuse to come here and splurge on a fantastic meal. I came a little early before our dinner reservations to enjoy the bar and have a nice cocktail. The bartender was absolutely delightful (I wish I remembered her name! and helped me choose the perfect control to start off the night. My friends had arrived and we were quickly seated. What an amazing hidden little gem! This place was phenomenal. The layout was so spectacular and the seating was so clean. The dark wood inside is so pretty. I went into a food coma just after the bread with honey butter. I loved everything that I had tried. I couldn't eat everything and was so full after apps but it made a great lunch for the day after. The service was the best and our server was so fun. He made our experience even better. I highly highly highly recommend the Tenderloin house and I will most definitely be back soon! A few of my coworkers and I visited the Tenderloin Room to celebrate one of our managers being in town. While the food was decent, I expected it to be exceptional given the prices. It wasn't bad, but it didn't stand out as anything particularly unique. The Pepperloin a La Tenderloin was a lovely cut of meat, yet I found it lacked the flavor that was advertised. My sides — mushrooms, mashed potatoes, and Brussels sprouts — were delicious and well-seasoned, but I don’t typically go to the Tenderloin Room for the sides, if that makes sense. I had tried this place a few months ago but came back to celebrate a birthday. This place did not disappoint a 2nd time around either. We ordered the Ribeye and the Salmon. Both dishes were charred to perfection. The salmon had a perfectly charred skin and came with mashed potatoes and broccolini. For the sides, we ordered the creamed spinach and mushrooms. The sides were delicious too! They have an excellent cocktail list and an expansive wine list to choose from. They have a special smoked old fashioned which comes to the table encased in smoke. I recently came across the Tenderloin Room while reading a food article, and I was thoroughly impressed. This place now ranks among the best steakhouses in St. Louis, offering one of the best steaks I’ve ever had! I tried the crab cakes, a mocktail, and the NY Strip. What I loved most was the incredible flavor in everything. The butter served with the bread was fantastic, and the crab cakes were complemented by an amazing sauce that enhanced their taste. I was in town for work so we took the team out for a yummy dinner! There were 10 of us and we did make a reservation. We were greater seated with no real enthusiasm. Then our waitress came to take drink orders and seemed unhappy to be there. The entire dinner was blah, food was ok but not amazing especially for the price and our waitress never smiled. O ordered filet surf turf and the lobster tail has zero flavor. We were a big group but friendly and not high maintenance. There are so many great restaurants in STL and sadly this is not one of them.

We enjoyed another fantastic dinner at The Tenderloin Room while celebrating our 37th anniversary last night. As always, the meal was exceptional! This is our favorite spot for any special occasion. My husband ordered the cowboy steak, and I had the lobster. We started with crab cakes, and of course, we can't resist the smoked old fashioned—those are our go-to choices whenever we dine here. The food is amazing. I met a friend at the bar for drinks and a snack and I am committed to returning for a full dinner! The service was fun and friendly!!! The space is a family owned space in a great location, inside the Chase! Pricey but worth it!!! Definitely returning!!

Still a very good place! Everything very tasty with great drinks! The items at the bar are also delicious (Burger and steak sandwich) service always good.
