We did our research before we went but Ignore what the Robinson website says about £10 burger and fish and chips and £14 wine. VERY expensive pub food, £17 burger or fish and chips. House wine £20. We decided to not get the wine but as there weren’t any other options in the area for food, we decided to take the hit and see if the food was worth £17, it wasn’t. I was dubious about deep frying lemon soul but there was nothing else on the limited menu I could eat. It was dry, the tempura batter that should have been light and crispy was not. The restaurant appears lovely from the outside, but unfortunately, that is the only positive aspect. The few reviews I could find were all positive, but I suspect they may be filtered as there is not a single negative review on the sugar vine website. The food was average, but overpriced for what essentially amounts to cafe food with a very limited menu. This establishment seems to cater more to locals as opposed to food enthusiasts. The noise level was unbearable due to a large group of staff members' friends, who were loud and swearing constantly. After a stroll in the nearby village of Tal y Bont, we decided to visit this restaurant. We were all delighted with our decision, as we unanimously agreed that it was one of the best meals we've ever had at a pub. The establishment has a spacious car park and a cozy atmosphere inside. Additionally, it is dog-friendly. The menu offered a good variety of options, including specials. The staff was friendly and welcoming. In my opinion, this is the perfect pub. We will definitely return in the future.

We have visited the Vic multiple times and have always had a great experience thanks to the friendly staff. During our most recent visit, the staff went above and beyond to help us during an emergency situation. We are very grateful for their exceptional service and look forward to returning. We stayed at the Vic on Saturday, October 21st and booked 3 rooms.

Nice IPA and delicious halloumi and mushroom burger! Lovely staff and v well presented pub inside! We really enjoyed our meals, and enough space between the tables to be able to relax with our dogs!
