Tuck Shop Cafe - Reservar uma mesa

what happened to the tuck shop that we have known and loved for years? seems as if there were a management selling, what a “new” (boring menu, sticky fake plants, java juice inspired decor and average service. we wondered how we managed to get in the 2nd january when they were in the rule for the holidays...no wait, no wait. before we are met with a hello, we are told to all the things that are not available this day (bef burger, chickenburger and all cake! all delicious menu items are disappeared croquettes, black pudding, kartoffel rosti, schinken hock, smoked cablejau, cheese kranski, polnta pries, etc. we were just leaving so disappointed $18.90 for a vegetarian breakfast with an egg is...

this place was formerly excellent, but no longer. we went this morning at 9 (Saturday) expected to wait outside, but there were empty tables. that should have been a sign, but we didn't pick it up. the plucked eggs were bad. underboiled and the “Sourdough” was only white ground bread. we got 10% off because of the vulture, but that didn't compensate how much of a bad imitation of the old place that is now. the waiting staff was pleasant enough and the service was fast, but looks like a new property. if we had never been here and knew how fantastic the food, service and coffee are used, I wouldn't write that. we will not go back.

This was the most over priced and ordinary cafe I have been to in a very long time. I was so disappointed with the food I received. I asked for a basic eggs on toast $12.50 and then decided to add a few sides...such as spinach, avocado etc etc. The sides were no more than a small handful of each for which they charged $4.50. My breakfast ended up costing me $33!!! I asked for fried eggs sunny side up and received two half-dead burnt eggs. The service was so poor I decided to not even bother to return them. Look elsewhere for a Cafe....honestly

Ambience good, cheerful staff but super average food and lack of parking available. Maybe better with local residence on foot traffic.
