I noticed that the cooks were not wearing gloves, which is acceptable to some extent, but it raised a food safety concern when they touched raw eggs and didn’t wash their hands afterward. I could see everything because the doors were open, and I never saw anyone wash their hands, which is particularly important after handling raw eggs and before touching ready-to-eat food. Additionally, one of the staff members—a blonde lady with glasses—had a bit of an attitude when my girlfriend asked for a different drink because the root beer was too sweet. This was our first visit, and while I appreciate the photos of veterans displayed around and found the prices reasonable, I do have serious concerns...

this was a great start to our day here in merritt island. the diner has a focus on good old fashion homestyle cook. everything my party ordered was great, so we were not punished with our reception! in any case, a lot of veterans there were clear ancestrals. great to hear that they talk about their time in service during the meal. if they enjoy real home style breakfast, and nothing against the veterans, they will be for a tasty bite at umpa’s diner!

I absolutely love this restaurant! I visit Cocoa Beach a few times each year, and this place is one of the most popular spots in the area. You can't go wrong with their omelets—they're fantastic! If you're a tourist searching for a good meal, keep in mind that this is a favorite among locals and a popular morning hangout. The food is delicious, the service is quick, and the staff is friendly. I highly recommend it!

From the moment you arrive, you feel like part of the family. While we were deciding what to order, we noticed the staff calling out names and asking regulars about their lives, which created a warm and inviting atmosphere. It's clear that many guests come back time and again. The food was excellent, and the prices were very reasonable. When we visit Kakaostrand again, we will definitely return.
