Union Street Grill Grotto

Visited Courtney's town centre and looking for a restaurant which has a gluten free menu. Very pleased to discover the Union Street grill and they were able to cater for coeliacs with a separate menu. We had the starters of panko chicken followed by a set menu of a soup of the day and a pasta dish. My husband had the enchilada dish with French fries which was very tasty and piping hot and was very pleased with his choice. Service was fine and friendly and all the dishes were delivered promptly.

Following a day of golf, we reserved a table for dinner at the Union Street Grill. Despite being 30 minutes late, we were accommodated with a fine table without question or delay. The menu is varied and interesting and worthy of return visits to try new things. A separate gluten-free menu is available for those who so desire. Our drinks and entrees were served promptly and accurately, and although the servers were busy, they were also attentive. A very satisfying dinner at a reasonable price.

A very nice mid range restaurant. Food was excellent and they were especially good on gluten free as my wife is Celiac. Which is why we chose it. The service was fine and friendly and food came out promptly. Certainly we would go back when in Courtenay.

Walked in with table of 6 - server acknowledged us then proceeded to chat with fellow staff members and left us standing uncomfortable at the door for 5 min. Apparently our business wasn't worth her time and we left. Disappointed

Great, reasonably priced family dinners. Kid's menu available and we were there on a Sunday evening which was family night so kid's meals were half priced. Good service. Would recommend.
