The new owners Christian Oertle Philippe Michel (both cooks just opened in May 2013 and they seem to have worked very hard since and they are putting on a good show inventive and very tasty. They both show up at different intervals with...the customers...all smiles and giving explanations as to what they have prepared for you. The charming waitress is very professional and attentative. As it was game season, there were various menus on offer, with 2, 3 or 4 dishes. The chef had his work cut out on the busy Saturday evening we visited. A wedding on the terrace outside, then in their function room, a stag party in the bar area and a number of gourmet diners including ourselves in their charming wood-panelled Appenzeller...Stube. The chef still managed to greet us personally on arrival and departure. The food was simply stunning. A reduction of sweet corn soup was offered by way of amuse bouche with a tiny toasted sandwich of local cheese and dried beef. Starters included an intense chilled tomato and cucumber soup, and a light beautifully presented and refreshing salad with sprouts and firm juicy prawns in an Asian dressing. Book your table in advance.... this restaurant has a warm and traditional cozy area and a more open hall-like room for seating... at either table/seating area, prepare yourself for a delightful and memorable dining experience. The service is friendly and very professional maintaining a warms...sense of being welcomed. The wine list is top class and the food (freshly prepared soups, salads, appetizers, mains, desserts etc) is expertly prepared and presented. They cover all the bases and leave you feeling this is how a restaurant should treat their patrons. Our 2nd visit to be followed by many more on future visits to Switzerland.

The restaurant didn't know but I celebrated my birthday here without bells but excellent food and wine. The place offers a very elegant modern swiss decor. A young and motivated team works in a spotlessly clean kitchen and they do a very good job. Excellent...mussels as a starter and a great Zuercher veal with roesti as main course. Superior wine list offers excellent swiss, french and other fine wines. We choose the Chardonnay from Flaesh (swiss), very reasonably priced and as good as a very good Burgundy. We enjoyed a very fine evening and highly recommend this fine restaurant.

We got greeted by the owner himself and were well looked after by his team the whole evening. Apart from the fine dining area there is also a typical Swiss Beiz area where the local craftsmen have a beer in the evening. Everyone is welcome...here.
