family dinners were booked for 10 people to celebrate a birthday and a graduation celebration. we arrived at 2.30 a.m. and found that we were going through a huge high-time party that takes up all the bar and restaurant area. only one dame served. drinking for the thirst of men, without leading us, one of us had to fight our way to the restaurant to find a table for 10. only two tables had other diners. Joined a friend for a lunch date and thought the building and decor was beautiful so anticipated the menu with excitement. I won’t be returning! The menu was no different to a burger joint. Everything was fast food. There was nothing that even sounded palatable....I tentatively asked the grumpy waitress if a salad was available? I have never gone to a restaurant before and tried to order “off menu” She agreed to ask the chef if he/she would prepare a grilled chicken salad. It is surprising to see a restaurant not listing a variety of salads for “ ladies who lunch” . I was grateful though that the chef agreed to accommodate my request. Went to Vines for a family meal for 10, very disappointing evening. Thought the menu was very limited for the prices charged. Food took a long time to come and the standard was average, have had better meals at chain pub/restaurants. Steaks overcooked, served with...trumpet mushrooms that were dried up. Tomato on side tasted like it was merely warmed up not actually cooked. Tandoori spiced lamb cutlets were dry, these were served with garlic mash(not very garlicky) and a pea puree which had dried up on the plate. Served with broccoli not the Savoy cabbage the menu promised, also only lukewarm. Battered cod was soft not crispy, clearly had been left under the heat lamps. Considering the price...

A retirement and leaving meal arranged for 19.45 for 16 people. Food arrived at 21.30 eventually. One of my colleagues had to leave at 21.15 staff brought her meal out in an ice cream plastic box?and then charged for it on the bill. Food was...over priced and drinks prices extortionate. Two different prices for the same drinks order. I feel well and truly ripped off!!!

We went for a birthday dinner and the food and service was excellent. We sat outside with beautiful views and enjoyed our meal and a drink. Morgan and Lilly were excellent and catered to our every needs.
