Weinhaus Merowingerhof

A wonderful restaurant and in small Andernach on the Rhine! The building is very old and full of character, with a beautiful green courtyard, and rooms that can only be described as "original". The 'Chefin' and her team (still no longer seems to have, always a 'team'! are all pleasant and efficient, and in their way help to create the atmosphere of tranquility. There is an excellent wine list, with many wines on the glass, and a varied menu, all very cheap. I even discovered 'meat cheese with roast potatoes', suggesting that this high-quality restaurant in no way 'in itself'! I've been here for years and the food is always wonderful and the staff like family. All from potato soup to salads to sparrows and desserts are fabulous. I always send colleagues here and they all come back happy. Do not pay attention to the few bad reviews (notice they only logged in to leave a review). This is the best restaurant in Andernach.

The food was lovely, we all ate different things (4 people) and none of us were disappointed. However, as we ordered desert after 9pm we were unable to have the omelette with currants as the kitchen was being cleaned. Lovely setting good food wine made up for this the deserts we had were delicious.

It is a very cozy place with delicious food. I ate chicken, but Steak is also really delicious. The region is known with its local wines. Please try it

Very comfortable and cheap for money. Prefect for our short stay. I would recommend and use it again. Thank you.
