One day after feasting on a superb plate of delicately dressed salads at the Scottish National Portrait Gallery in Edinburgh, I met up with a friend to visit the Whitechapel Gallery. The cafe itself is lovely, airy and when we met, spacious with discreet background music (I 've been at a weekend once when the music was so loud we didn 't bother to order). So, all good so far. My friend ordered soup, which was a clear vegetable broth accompanied by a rich, crusty sourdough bread. I ordered a plate of two salads, which looked delicious. But, on two counts, I didn 't enjoy my meal. The main reason was the charring of so many of the vegetables. I 'm not sure why anyone would want to serve cold c...
I have visited this place many times. It's always busy and it used to have waiter service and pay at the end. I was disappointed that this has changed. Having sat for awhile I finally went up to the counter myself. There weren't as many fakes as they used to have and I had to pay upfront. Not sure if it's under new management. However, the two cakes my friend and I shared were beautiful! I was very pleasantly surprised! Not sure I'd rush back there as there's other places very close by with much more on offer.
At this restaurant near Brick Lane in the heart of east London, you'll find a diverse crowd of locals including students, artists, and dreamers. Everyone is relaxed and taking their time, in stark contrast to the bustling traffic just outside. Many patrons can be seen typing away on their laptops as they enjoy their meal.
Stopped by this local cafe for a bite to eat and a refreshing drink. It's quiet despite being right next to a busy road and it offers free wifi. The food is delicious and the beverages refreshing I ordered the chorizo tortilla and have to say I was very impressed. Would recommend to anyone looking for a quiet place to eat Reserve uma mesa agora
The recent addition of a daytime café at the Whitechapel Gallery offers a variety of hot and cold food options with a rotating menu. A standout dish for us was the hearty salt beef sandwich served with a side of sweet potato salad and roasted garlic. For dessert, we indulged in a scrumptious prune and almond frangipane.
We come here often, and it's a **** good cafe. The staff are the best thing about the place always friendly, genuine, and banterous. The food is always good, and often helpfully healthy. The coffee is always tip top. It's all a tad pricey, but not outrageously, given where it is.
After taking in a show at The Whitechapple Gallery we enjoyed a brilliant lunch. A fresh soup and a clever salad, as always the staff were super friendly and the Cakes and Tarts for dessert brilliant. Not bad value for London and bar far the best Gallery Food...
Comfortable place to sit and relax after walking round exhibits in the gallery. It can get busy but there is a quieter area facing the main cafe which many people don't notice. Interesting and nutritious salads and very good cake Reserve uma mesa agora
