We enjoyed a delightful lunch with friends from the area who have eaten here often. The ambience invites you to come and explore. Authentic Pfalz décor is coupled with an outdoor terrace with enormous umbrellas for pleasant shade. The menu offerings highlight regional fare prepared...and presented with care. Both our dishes of chicken and of chanterelles exploded with flavor. Excellent local wines pair well with the menu. Considering the quality, prices were reasonable. This is not a tourist hangout, so be forewarned you may experience some language issues which can be challenging, but fun. Once you have sampled your favourite wines and completed your purchases in the wine cooperation next door, the adjacent Winzerstube invites you to endulge in all the culinary specialities the region and the state of Rheinland-Pfalz has to offer: Saumagen, sausages, meat- and liver dumplings,...an excellent kraut, homemade fried potatoes, but also poultry such as duck and geese, fish from local ponds and rivers, and of course the same wine selection as in the cooperation. I recommend to call to make a reservation, their food is so good that not only tourist but the locals alike frequent the restaurant, regardless on what day of the week.
