We stayed overnight in this hut as part of a three-day mountain hike from the Hochfelder Alm. The cottage has a beautiful location with a beautiful sun terrace with magnificent views of the Zugspitze and Daniel Peak. It was very quiet at the cottage in the night we stayed, and we had a nice dormitory for our family of 5 with fantastic views. The staff was very friendly and included a Scottish lady! The owner has cooked us a fantastic meal of roasted chicken, which after a long hike was especially appreciated by our three teenage daughters. The interior is very cozy and welcoming. During my first hike of my week-long journey into the Tiroler Zugspitze Arena, I visited this lovely and typically Austrian mountain cabin. Very nice place, with beautiful views from above 1700 m. Wolfratshauser Hütte also serves as a trekking hut, so you can sleep here as well (16 beds . Friendly (Scottish! woman serving drinks. The terrace was almost empty when I got there, just before a big rain shower. Also inside it is a lovely place, typically Austrian with lots of wood etc. Highly recommended!
Every year, when we ski in Lermoos, I make sure I always go to this cabin for lunch. The food is authentic, tasty and I think is the best on the ski mountain (all others are owned by the elevator company). The way there is a ski route that can be difficult for beginners skiers, but everyone who is intermediate should be fine as long as they are reasonable. coming from the cottage after lunch is like a black run. English service is only available in German. Cash only due to the location.
