Yorky's Halibut and Chips

After spending the evening at Summer by the Sea in Parksville we went with our friend's to Yorky's.We had heard from two other couples that it was very good.We ordered the Halibut and Chips and Coleslaw.I didn't find it as great as I had expected.Seemed a little too cooked,!batter very dark and crispy although tender inside but just didn't find it super tasty.Maybe it was me everyone else enjoyed it.Crispy fries and side of coleslaw was a bit too much.Convenient location off island highway and in the heart of Parksville and walking distance from criag Street where we had attended the Tuesday Night market!Have to give this place another try! I love fish and chips but am fussy and gluten free. I can't tell you how many times we have been to places with good reviews only to be totally disappointed at the (real fries) being nothing but frozen and the (fresh fish) tasting not fresh at all. At Yorky's we had halibut and chips and cod and chips. One cod and one halibut was done gluten free for me in an amazing delicious batter, not shrunk up on someones grill. The fish still had the ocean flavor, the fries were fresh cut and the oil was clean. They make their own delicious tarter sauce and coleslaw dressing. To make it even better the waitress was an absolute sweetheart and the cook was very nice and accommodating.

My husband and I got takeout cod & chips for the first time from Yorky's and were really pleased with the pleasant service we received. Our meals were nicely packed up with everything we needed (this doesn't always happen at other places, unfortunately). The cod was perfect...a nice thick, solid cut that was nicely battered and cooked perfectly. The fish was moist and tender, but the batter was crisp & solid. There was a very generous portion of fries & again, they were excellent. Nice & crisp on the outside, moist on the inside. We'll definitely go back.

The fish and chips at this restaurant are excellent, with options for gluten-free customers. It is a cozy establishment that can seat around 30 people, but the fish is high quality. Reserve uma mesa agora

We've had fish and chips at a few places in Parksville, Yorky's was by far the best! Delicious halibut, yummy batter properly cooked crunchy with flaky fish. Chips also very tasty

Haven't had fish & chips for about a year and a half due to a bad reaction. Decided to be brave and try it. Fish and chips were very good and no bad reaction.

This is a wonderful spot for fish and chips. We visited on Saturday and found around 6-8 tables, most of which were occupied by the time we arrived.

And not too expensive. Lots of sitting room! Dog friendly outside! We sat outside and ate out meal....right across for the beach! Would recommend! Reserve uma mesa agora

We had the cod and chips, real potato chips, large fish portions. A little pricey but you get what you pay for.
