Zum Alten Calwer - Reservar uma mesa

we visited the small town of calw to make the reality an old dream of my wife to know the birthplace of her favorite German writer man hesse, whose many books she read during her youth age in Mexico City. After visiting the Hesse Museum and visiting the old town we were a bit hungry and it rained, many places were closed and google maps we found the to the old calwer restaurant, it was hard to see in the bottom next to a bar/bistro. that was worth it! they had only a menu in German, but after the exchange with susy, the hostess, we decided to have a grilled fish plate for my wife and a typical spicy carving (broken pork) and pommes; our meal was delicious, including its fantastic home desser...

The owner of the hotel we stayed in referred us to this restaurant, and indeed, it was worthwhile: friendly staff, great food and wine, and the veggie-burger made of zucchini was really to die for!!! The frendly waiter was helpfull in offering the wine choises...(my husband took red wine, which he never likes, but this wine he said tasted great, and so it was). Some will like the fact that light is scarse, but even our party existed of only both of us, I found it really dark inside. The next day we went back to have a desert (as I was too stuffed for such the evening before) at its outdoor seating, but sadly the restaurant was then closed. As we traveled on the next day I must do so in futur...

from outside it does not look so much; on the ground floor of a small two-storey shopping center in the center of the city. we have actually done it on looking for a better looking place, but these cities are left in the regular in the evenings. so we went back to this place, because it actually humans in the inner. with a smile and service was fast. eating is excellent, the cook knows what he does. word of the evening pfifferlingen! the salmon was delicious and the stuffed bark was awesome in size and taste I can say a man portion (care if that sounds sexist). would go back regularly if we were living there.

we would not have been here if it was not recommended for the recommended on tripadvisor, since the place is not too attractive looking at the first view the location of the terrace next to the road is somehow strange, but both eating and service were very good. good and definitiw recommended. I'm afraid we've chosen the wrong dishes for an excellent 5-star rating, as both were too much and overdue, but very happy we found this place.

I'm sorry, in English. I tried German, but they will understand my English better. we were here two times in the last week and that says everything I think. the food is delicious, good portions. and the service was great. the waitress (suzanne was very nice and helpful. our visits here made our vacation great!
