Café Zum Fischhaus

The final Sunday of 32. Arolser Barock Festival enticed us back to this beautiful town. However, we were there too early for the events. Although we could admire dozens of Porsches waiting for a long snake in front of the castle to the entrance for the Porsche meeting, there was not much going on on the flanier mile. It's not gonna start right until 13:00. In short, we made a short hike to the fish house, which we had already set on our plan during our last visit to Arolsen. Die Bedienung trug Jogginghose und Kuschelsocken, war wortkarg und nicht wirklich freundlich.Die Kuchenauswahl war für einen Sonntagnachmittag 15 Uhr (was doch eigentlich die Primetime ist) auch sparsam, geschmacklich eher wie tiefgekühlt.Waffeln gibt es, warum auch immer, nur Samstags?!Die Inneneinrichtung stammt aus dem letzten Jahrhundert und ist nicht gerade einladend.Für ein Café an einem beliebten Wanderweg echt arm und nicht zu empfehlen.

We arrived at a hike in the fish house and stayed longer than planned, because we felt so comfortable. Friendly host, homemade cakes and cozy dining room with fireplace and a mix of tradition and modern elements. The beer garden is also worth a walk in summer.

On a bike tour here made a break. We were very friendly and despite dirty bike stuff. We have been offered seat cushions in the damp cheerful weather for outdoors. Chapeau The cake was very good and there is now more often a break.

Beautiful restaurant combining tradition and modernity. Fresh kitchen with fish or carving, vegan or vegetarian dishes. Come again
