The Fröhliche Jass is located in a funny little chalet a comfortably short distance away from the village church and the grocery store, and it happened to be the only restaurant open on the rather cold November Sunday I was there.However, having no choice in the matter didn't make this place a bad choice - the hosts were welcoming, the decaffeinated coffee was good (and decaff is rather tricky, so yay for this one), and the place was comfortably warm and decorated with a Tschäggätä (the typical carnival figure of the Lötschental), which gave it a rather local flair.
