Zum Grunen Glas - Reservar uma mesa

We visited with friends from overseas and enjoyed dinner at the “Zum Gruenen Glas”. The restaurant offers a great variety of classic Swiss dishes and absolutely meets the high quality standards of the certified Gilde restaurants. We liked the warm ambiance, delicious freshly prepared food, the selection of handpicked local and international wines, and the very friendly service. During fall season, the menu holds traditional wild game, as well as a variety of artfully prepared creative game dishes. The food here is amazing. They wouldn't accept my American COVID vaccination certificate and let me eat outside, which was quite annoying. However, the servers were nice and the food is so good that I will give them a pass. I recommend the fish soup (no idea what kind of fish, the name is like 20 syllables in German). The soup has a generous part of fish fillets with beautiful crispy skin and local vegetables in a delicate broth (Broth added at the table). I also had the calfs and mushrooms in cream sauce with roast that was just perfect. Beer is cold and tasty and the bread is fresh and crusty.

After some time we went back to this cozy restaurant in the middle of the old town of Switzerland for dinner. The food is, as always, excellent and the prices of wines are reasonable (his rare in the city). What we did not appreciate too much was the rather unfriendly reception. It was because we arrived without reservation (the tables were available) or the staff was stressed. We had to wait some time for the plates. In the evening the situation improved to God as we like this place.

We came for lunch. I was tried by the Venison saddle, which is mediocre, not much taste. The desert of cream cut with berries was also disappointing, heavy and the expected flockiness was lacking. The berries came from a can. My friend ate very little and the bill of 110 francs seemed too high. The service was pretty slow. All in all, I was not impressed.

There is not much to see from the street, but inside are beautiful rooms and a very pleasant little courtyard where we ate. The menu is based on traditional Swiss dishes, but also some more modern interpretations. Very good food, pleasant service.
