Zum Hotel Stern - Reservar uma mesa

Having read some reviews we decided to go for a meal at The Haller, not realising that the tables at the old market in Monschau are being used by several restaurants. Some looked quite similar and so we only realised half way through the meal that we had landed at The Stern Hotel. The menus didn't have any names on them, which should have caught our attention, but I guess we were so impressed by the lovely surroundings that it didn't 'click' straight away. In hindsight we thought it was a very clever strategy to benefit from the popularity of other nearby restaurants, which isn't ok at all and of course can't be proven. I had no words for this place. The staff is terrible, they do not help you and are not friendly at all (especially the brave man). They just stare at you while they smoke in front of you. We had to sit somewhere because we were hungry and all the other restaurants were full. Do not let yourself be fooled by the surroundings and the beautiful place. WORST PLACE EVER!

Food quality/price acceptable but lousy rude arrogant waiter, who forgets people also understand Italian and who consoles himself thinking people must be Dutch if they dont tip him... Think again. This is the first time in my life I didn’t tip a waiter. Arrogance doesn’t pay. Look fir another job where you don’t meet people.

Rude, food was terrible and we couldnt choose where we wanted to sit. The place was empty. We payd with coins (wich is money i think) and he was joking if we broke our money bank. Life must be terrible if youre like that guy. Don’t come here.

Very unpolite and rude staff. Dont go there. Wanna to drink something and maybe have a lunch. A no go, we must eat, otherwise go away. Enough other great places to go.
