My friend & I went here for dinner on a Friday night a couple of weeks ago. I had read a couple of reviews & they were all good. The restaurant has a patio with lots of seating & a beautiful fountain. We chose to sit inside this time but i would definitely sit outside another time. It would be nice even to just sit on the patio & have drinks. The restaurant is owned by 2 brother who both have considerable experience in the food industry. 39 Spices took over an existing Italian restaurant, the decor is more utilitarian than intentional, but we were seated at the front part of the restaurant near the large window so the atmosphere was nice. The staff was friendly, but maybe it was a long weekend the service and food preparation wasn't as prompt--but the food was good. There were 3 of us, we ordered the chaat papri and pani puri to start, for main we got methi malai mutter, rack of lamb, and chili mint naan. This is our new favorite restaurant in Markham. The Lamb Biryani is so amazing that I love it and I don't even like lamb. We try and go at least 2-3 times per month or more because the flavors, the spices keep calling you back. And this is not spicy hot this is flavor at it's best - 39 spices in fact. They can make it hot but why over power perfection. We will order $60-70 worth of food, enough for 6-8 hungry people, including wine so that we can bring most of it home for at least 2 more meals. We tried 39 Spices for the first time and decided to go for the luncheon buffet ($11.98) . The food was very tasty, not a big selection but what was available was very good such as butter chicken, goat curry, chili chicken, tandoori chicken, dhal, vegetable, paneer curry, rice dumpling, vegetable & lentil dish, rice, various chutneys, and great basket of naan. (halal meat) Right on Main Street just north of Hwy 7. Parking behind building and on street parking as well. Accessible. They have a large patio plus ample indoor seating.Friendly service . I recently visited 39 Spices with my family and was pleasurably surprised. The menu is excellent. I would recommend the rice that is served "duum" or really hot and fresh! The service was impeccable and the ambience delightful. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who is dying to try some pretty good Indian food in Markham!

We had good things but service was poor..45 minutes to get our order. Many waiters serving us but none doing much. Food came out hot but the Massala Lobster was overcooked, Mixed veggies good. Would be reluctant to go back.

We had the buffet lunch. Decent selections and the food is fresh. Service can be a little slow and we had to wait a while each time for the nan breads. A convenient place for a quick lunch and the price is reasonable

I went to this restaurant to partecipate to a Rotary meeting. Dinner was served here and I enjoyed very nice Indian food. Their curries were good, man and tandoori chicken also good.

The food and spices are so flavourful and not greasy. Fresh and tasty and very good value. We love this food.
