Albergo Ospizio Bernina

we booked this hotel for 1 night in February 2017, we arrived by train to the hospice station bernina and as soon as I got down there was a snowstorm. We called the hotel to ask how we could climb to the rifiugo as there were more than 80/100cm of snow on the ground.The hotelier warned us that the situation was not the best but the only alternative is to spend 240 of taxis gone and back from diavolezza. we asked for the possibility of having a discount as indicated on booking for the waiver, but we were answered in a derisoria that having booked with booking it was not up to us the discount and that we should have booked with them. the bernina hospice is the typical place where entering you have the impression not only of the old (furnishment) but also of the desolate and/or abandoned typical of those places that for some reason or are not frequented (but from other reviews you can understand why) or the gerents have lost the stimulus to make their attractive place, which if we want is slightly self-lesionist. I don't have much to say about the kitchen as we stopped just to warm up with a coffee but it's true that the prices are a little inflated and the service leaves a little to want. if you add the environment, the circle closes

the hotel is a few meters from the top of the bernina pass and 400 meters from the train station "hospice bernina," on the Tirano-St moritz line. the ride from the station to the hotel is on the slope, so if you plan to get by train it is better to avoid bulky and heavy luggage and luggage. no problem, however, if you arrive with the car. parking in front of the hospice is free and quite capacious. the hotel is well managed and clean. rooms with private and shared bathroom. the dinner was decent and, according to the Swiss standards, relatively cheap (28 chf.) excellent breakfast buffet.

both at the reception and in the restaurant, the staff was short- bound, not ready for arrival and overall quite unfriendly. for smallness as bicycles pack in the (while the summer not used) ski space or luggage storage is immediately extra cashed. unfortunately on the Bernina pass height without alternative.

We were ill-received. the wine badly served and dear for what it was, the staff and the boss very unpleasant. map not interesting, we left in front of where the map is varied and the helpful and friendly staff
