ALE - Amberwood Lounge & Eatery

ALE is a beautiful unpretentious fine eating establishment. In the summer months it is my favorite patio to sit on - bonus points for it being covered so don't have to worry about sun protection! The food is always of the highest quality and the service may be even better! My husband and I love it for a quite meal to talk and relax and I love to go to lunch with friends. I wish that breakfast was served in the summer so that I could get a bit to eat and play 9 holes (this restaurant is on a golf course). We were the ONLY table in the place but we had to keep asking for service. 2 servers. NO SERVICE. We had to go ask for our wine AFTER our meals had arrived. We had to go ask for coffee at the table, BOTH servers grabbed our coffee cups by the liWowp area with their hands. TWICE! This place is going the way of the dodo bird if someone doesn't step in and fix this. But the general lack of concern about handling dishes by the servers and the poor service makes me wonder what is going on in the kitchen. The Ottawa Citizen gave it a bad review on June 7 2017. Same issues with service and food.

Came here with my husband in May and had been a few times before. The service as soon as we walked in was great. Shared a very delicious charcuterie board then had the tuna app. Finished off with the chili chocolate brownie which is my favorite. Great food, great service and great atmosphere. Can't wait to go back!

ALE has become our favorite place. We have used them for larger groups (30+) and for intimate gatherings. The food is delicious, interesting and reasonably priced, the wait staff are so professional and outstanding. Nicolle, the event manager always ensures that the evening is perfect in every way!!

I ordered the steak slider for lunch and the steak was so tough I couldn't chew or eat it. They only gave me $5.00 off for inedible food instead of offering me something else. My 3 companions had average to good food. Lovely location and view.
