Au Caprice Des Deux: Bistronomique Saint-tropez

I tried to book Au Caprice des Deux a week before our arrival using their contact form on the website, twice and no one responded. I contacted the restaurant on Instagram and eventually managed to arrange a table for the 8:30pm service. I also explained that I was hoping to propose to my girlfriend that night and was excited to do it there with such a beautiful view sat outside. We arrived on the night and was told I didn't have a reservation. A mix up with whomever runs their social media. These things happen, but the staff weren't apologetic, nor were we were offered anything complimentary for the huge imposition of the situation We were sat inside after a while, and enjoyed a lovely meal....

Horrible experience. For a restaurant with such high prices, the service was catastrophic. We were really looking forward to our meal, sat down and asked for water and ice. We reminded them we needed water and ice three times, and were left waiting for 25 minutes. When a member of our group finally went inside to inquire about the ice, she was met with contempt and we were all kicked out of the restaurant for “being rude”. A place that describes itself as high class should know better than to kick someone out just because of a complaint about the service. If you crumble at a single request or “rude person”, you need to do some introspection and maybe start charging prices that correspond to...

We said we would come back and we did! This place continues to deliver an extremely good meal with great service and a lively atmosphere. We were thrilled the crab cannelloni was still on the menu as well as the steak with truffle sauce. Excellent wine choices too. This is family owned and you see the family working flat tack during the evening. Gracious, funny yet focused. Still one of our go/tos in St Tropez and clearly others think the same so recommend booking ahead.

Pleasant location and ambience in one of the inner lanes of St Tropez, the whole lane full of atmosphere , though hidden . The food and wine were good, the service attentive. It was a good find . Some of the others seemd too touristy

Great authentic restaurant in St. Tropez. Food was great. Setting was nice sitting outside in a nice early summer night. We had an excellent wine from a vineyard in nearby Provence.
